Nail Art!

M Missoni in Spanish Cosmo May ‘13

I tried it out last weekend, just trusting my pulse and my own creativity to come up with some crazy design that would look amazing not just on the nails, but would look overall pretty on my hands! I even thought my goal was kind of hard as I tried to do some "classic" nail art, that would go with everything I'd wear during the week. There is no classic nail art! It is crazy, fun, and trendy! But there is a way of doing it with style, it might not be classic, but it can be stylish...

After painting them with a base of OPI bright orange, I proceeded to draw little dots with a dark gray color, that I think its called Lincoln in the Park at night....is it? Well, I don't remember and now I am feeling kind of lazy to go and check it out...anyway.....I ended up messing it up, when I started to incorporate a lighter version of orange, plus a light blue! Yes! I admit it, I had to use polish remover because what started as a cool trendy activity that would make me even trendier ;-) became a messy affair. I started to put coats and coats of different colors on top of one another, and it became a paste, difficult to remove!

TOP 5 HAIR AND MAKE UP Oscars 2013

All 5 of them wore "soft" make up. The colors of the dresses except for both Kerry's and Naomi's were very pale, washed out pastels. With that kind colouring on an evening dress, make up has to show, but not be defined with hard lines, or be too obvious.

A soft smoky eye like Jennifer Lawrence's is a PERFECT fit for these dresses. Pared with pink sheer lips, and soft pinky cheeks is a great combo.

4 out of 5 women were wearing their hair UP. We liked that all were in kind of "messy" up dos. Formal enough for OSCARS and fun enough to maintain the natural playful young look. It seems young looking is what every actress wants to achieve nowadays. Needless to say we saw too many fillers, and Botox on some of those red carpet faces!

Nothing too extreme, or too hard. This year our TOP 5 make up and hair winners are all about, being true to themselves and letting their own beauty shine!

¡Labios rojos para todas!

Algunos trends Otoño Invierno 2013/14

Veo todo negro, y no sólo es porque se hace de noche temprano en el invierno neoyorquino. Los diseñadores que han presentado colecciones durante la semana de la moda en Nueva York, están yendo a lo seguro.

• El negro es elegante, sobrio, combinable, clásico, y “adelgaza”. Sabemos, o mejor dicho, ellos saben, que el negro, vende. El negro es el color base para la próxima temporada Otoño Invierno, y con esa base, las posibilidades son inagotables. El negro combinado con dorado y/o plateado sigue siendo el epítome de la elegancia. Por suerte en medio de tanta oscuridad aparecieron diseñadores como Ralph Rucci para Chado que presentó tapados de piel en colores como fucsia y verde. También Oscar de la Renta, presentó vestidos en fucsia y verdes casi fluo. Naeem Kahn largó su colección con plateados, dorados y negros, y terminó con vestidos en rojos y verdes, combinados con dorados. El brocado y los bordados de canutillos y lentejuelas fueron los protagonistas en vestidos de noche.

• Los look en maquillaje acompañaron las temperaturas bajo cero, bases muy pálidas, prácticamente no se vió el uso de rubores. Las cejas bien marcadas, y gruesas. Como principal punto de foco, los labios, en rosa fuerte, o rojo, pero siempre mate.

• Los zapatos y botas en puntas muy finas, y los sobres infaltables para la noche.

• Guantes largos, pantalones chupín, y polleras tubo, todos en cuero.

• El cuero negro y las pieles siguen protagonizando el invierno. Son clásicos que sobrevivirán muchos inviernos más, una buena inversión si están pensando en adoptar algún trend para la próxima temporada.
